Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana 2025 - Apply Online for ₹2.10 Lakh Scheme for Women in Bihar

Bihar government has launched a new scheme Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana 2025 to help women start their own employment. This new scheme was announced on 29 August 2025 by the Chief Minister of Bihar, Mr. Nitish Kumar. Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana will provide financial assistance of up to ₹2.10 Lakh to one woman from every family of the state.

Women, under this scheme, will not only get money but also training on how to choose the right business, how to manage it properly, and how to plan their money. They will also learn basic management and technical skills to run their work better.

Bihar government has approved a budget of ₹20,000 crore to give loans under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana. This scheme will support women in villages and towns to start small businesses and earn their own income.

Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana – Main Objectives

The main aim of this ₹2.10 lakh scheme for women is to boost their income, support families, and build self-employment opportunities in all villages and towns of Bihar. Under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, eligible women will first get ₹10,000 in their bank accounts, and later, depending on the progress of their work, they can receive up to ₹2 lakh extra support to further expand or improve their self employment business.

Launch Date

This scheme has been officially launched and the online applications for this scheme will start within September 2025 and the first installment of Rs. 10,000 will be disbursed within this month as well.

Scheme management & Implementation

Rural Development Department of Bihar Government will manage the scheme, with possible support from the Urban Development and Housing Department for smooth execution. Under this scheme, the state government will also develop special markets (haat-bazaars) from village to city level for women to sell their products.

Apply Online for Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana 2025

To apply, it is required for women to become part of a Bihar Jeevika Nidhi. These Jeevika groups and village organizations will take applications and complete the process at the local level.

The online application process for for Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana will begin very soon through the Rural Development Department of Bihar. Women who want to apply for this scheme can follow below step by step process after the scheme portal is live:

STEP 1: Visit the official website for Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana 2025 at mmry.brlps.in.

STEP 2: On the homepage, click on the “online application” option under the MMRY Bihar scheme.

STEP 3: Enter your Aadhar number on the next screen, verify it with OTP and then proceed.

STEP 4: In the next page, the application form for Mahila Rojgar Yojana will open, now fill all the details such as name, bank account details, and the type of work or business you want to start.

STEP 5: In the next step, upload required documents like Aadhaar card, residence proof, bank passbook copy, income certificate, self declaration certificate, business project report and passport-size photograph.

STEP 6: Submit the form and download the receipt for future reference.

Eligibility Criteria

Official eligibility criteria for this scheme has not been announced by the state government yet, however, following could be the tentative criteria.

Applicant must be a woman and be a permanent resident of Bihar state.
Only one woman from each family can apply for this scheme.
The woman should be interested in starting self-employment or small business.
The women should have a valid Aadhar card, a mobile number and bank account linked with the Aadhar number.

We have worked extensively for women empowerment since the formation of the government in November 2005. Many important steps have been taken to make women empowered and self-reliant. Now women are not only contributing to the progress of Bihar with their hard work but they are also strengthening the economic condition of their families. Taking this mission forward, we have now taken an important and unprecedented decision in the interest of women, which will have positive and far-reaching results. Our government has approved a new scheme for women’s employment “Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana” in the cabinet meeting today.

The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to a woman from every family in the state to start a business of her choice.

1. As financial assistance, one woman from each family will be given an amount of 10 thousand rupees as the first installment for the employment of her choice.

2. The process of receiving applications from interested women will be started soon. Its complete arrangement and process will be determined by the Rural Development Department and for this, the help of the Urban Development and Housing Department will also be taken as per the need.

3. Transfer of funds into women’s bank accounts will start from September 2025.

4. After assessment of 6 months after women start employment, additional assistance of upto Rs. 2 lakh can be given as per requirement.

5. Haat bazaars will be developed in the state from villages to cities for the sale of women’s products. I am confident that the implementation of this scheme will not only strengthen the position of women but will also provide better employment opportunities within the state and people will not be forced to go out of the state for employment.
