The actual list of 100 districts selected under the PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana has not been released by the central government but, the selection criteria for the selection of the 100 districts under the scheme has been announced. The central government will choose districts based on:

  • Low agricultural productivity
  • Moderate crop intensity (number of crops grown on the same land in a year)
  • Below-average agricultural credit availability

Each state and union territory will have at least one district in the scheme. The exact number from each state will depend on the share of net cropped area and the number of operational holdings.

Note: Cropping intensity means how efficiently the land is used. For example, if a piece of land is used to grow two crops in one year, the cropping intensity is 200%. As the the annual report of 2024-25 by Agriculture ministry, the national crop intensity average is 155.9%. Punjab and Haryana has the highest cropping intensity of 192% and 188% respectively.
