Tamil Nadu government has launched a new scheme called “Vetri Nichayam” to help unemployed youth between 18 and 35 years get free skill training and better job opportunities. Announced by Chief Minister M K Stalin on the third anniversary of the Naan Mudhalvan initiative, the Vetri Nichayam Scheme aims to train 75,000 young people in the first phase, giving them practical skills needed for today’s top industries. The state government has allocated ₹100 crore for this phase, making it one of the most ambitious employment-linked training drives in the state.
Under the Vetri Nichayam Scheme, youth from across Tamil Nadu, including those from socially and economically backward communities, persons with disabilities, tribals, minorities, Sri Lankan Tamils, fisherfolk, and sanitary workers can access free, short-term courses in 38 industrial sectors through over 500 recognized training institutes. After completing their training in one of 165 available courses, candidates will get direct job placement support with top companies like TVS, Tata Electronics, Tech Mahindra, LG, and many more. A new mobile app called Skill Wallet has also been launched to help applicants find courses, register, and get updates on job opportunities.

What is the Vetri Nichayam Scheme?
Vetri Nichayam (வெற்றி நிச்சயம்) Scheme, meaning “Sure Success”, is a free training and job placement program for the youth of Tamil Nadu.
