Andhra Pradesh government has officially launched the new welfare scheme “Thalliki Vandanam Scheme 2025“. Under this scheme, ₹15,000 will be directly credited to mothers’ bank accounts every year for their school-going children. This Thalliki Vandanam Scheme was part of the TDP-led NDA government’s election promise under the ‘Super Six’ guarantees and has now been implemented from June 12, 2025.

Under this scheme, the government will spend ₹8,745 crore to support education across the state, benefiting nearly 67 lakh mothers. Thalliki Vandanam scheme covers students from Class 1 to Intermediate (Class 12) and aims to reduce dropout rates by supporting families who face financial difficulties in continuing their children’s education.

Objective of the Scheme

The main goal of the Thalliki Vandanam Scheme is to increase school attendance and reduce dropout rates by giving financial support to mothers. It directly empowers mothers to keep their children in school and ensure they get quality education from Class 1 to Intermediate.

The scheme also supports the government’s aim of improving literacy rates in the state and reducing the gap in access to education for poor and underprivileged children.

Eligibility List for Thalliki Vandanam Scheme 2025

To apply under the Thalliki Vandanam Scheme 2025, the student and their family must meet the following conditions:

Eligibility Criteria for 2025-26

To be eligible, the family and student must meet the following conditions:

Student Criteria:
  • Studying in Class 1 to 12 in any recognized Government/Private/Residential School or Junior College in AP.
  • Maintains at least 75% attendance during the academic year.
Mother/Guardian & Household Criteria:
  • Must be a permanent resident of Andhra Pradesh.
  • Household income:
    • Less than ₹10,000/month in rural areas.
    • Less than ₹12,000/month in urban areas.
  • Should possess a valid Rice Card.
  • Land ownership must be less than 3 acres (wet land), or less than 10 acres (dry land), or less than 10 acres combined.
  • Monthly electricity usage must be less than 300 units (average over 12 months).
  • Must not own municipal property over 1000 sq. ft.
  • No member should:
    • Be a government employee (except sanitation workers or those earning below income threshold).
    • Be an income tax payer.
    • Own a four-wheeler (tractors/autos/taxis are exempted).
  • Aadhaar-seeded bank account is mandatory.
  • Household should be in State’s database, otherwise, field verification will be done.

Selection Process Under Thalliki Vandanam Scheme

  • Students will be selected only after verifying school enrollment, attendance record, and income status.
  • Preference is given to families from weaker economic backgrounds.
  • Once the list of students is finalized by schools and local authorities, the benefit will be transferred to mothers through DBT.
  • For students admitted under Section 12(1)(C) of RTE Act, 2009, the amount will be routed to school managements via Samagra Shiksha and balance transferred to mother’s account.

However, there are no official details available about the online application or registration process of Thalliki Vandanam scheme, but below could be the tentative process.

Step 2: Click on “Apply Now” button on the homepage.

Step 3: Fill the application form with all personal, academic, and financial details.

Step 5: Click on Submit to complete the application. You will receive a reference number for future tracking.
