Government of Odisha has started online applications for the Odisha Laptop Scheme 2025 under the Godavarish Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana (GVPY Laptop DBT). Under this scheme, the state government of Odisha is providing ₹30,000 financial assistance to eligible students for purchasing a laptop. Applications for the laptop scheme are open from 1st July 2025. Students who have passed their 12th exam or equivalent in 2025 can check their eligibility and apply online for this laptop scheme of Odisha government before the last date.

What is Godavarish Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana or Odisha Laptop Scheme?
Godavarish Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana (Laptop DBT) is a flagship scheme being run by the Higher Education Department, Odisha. Since 2013, Odisha has been supporting meritorious students by distributing laptops. From 2020-21, the scheme changed to a Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode, where eligible students get ₹30,000 directly in their bank account instead of a physical laptop.
- The scheme aims to support 15,000 meritorious students every year from various categories and streams.
- The purpose is to help students become digitally empowered and continue their higher studies smoothly.

Eligibility Criteria for Odisha Laptop Scheme 2025
To apply for the scheme, a student must meet the following conditions:
Who can apply?
- Students from General, SC, ST, OBC/SEBC, EBC categories.
- Students who have successfully passed the Annual Higher Secondary Examination (CHSE Odisha) or Vocational/Upashastri Examination (Sanskrit Board) in 2025.
- The student’s name should appear in the merit list published by the Higher Education Department, Odisha.
- The scheme covers a wide range of courses: Plus 3, B.Tech, B.Sc., B.Com., BBA, BCA, Medical, Engineering, Diploma, Integrated courses, Vocational, Law, Management, Arts, Science, Commerce, Hotel Management, Pharmacy, Social Work, Fashion Design, and many more.
Income Criteria
- There is no specific family income limit mentioned for the year 2025 in the official documents. All meritorious students from the published list can apply.
Other Requirements
- The applicant must have an Aadhaar card and a mobile number linked to Aadhaar.
- The applicant must have a bank account seeded (NPCI mapped) with Aadhaar to receive the amount via DBT.

How are Beneficiaries Selected?
- The selection is merit-based: Only those students whose names appear in the official merit list (based on stream, block/ULB, and category) are eligible to apply.
- The selection list is created using pass-out data received from CHSE Odisha and SJSV Puri.
- Block/ULB-wise distribution is done to ensure representation from all areas.
- Generally, students with 60% and above marks are considered for the merit list, but cut-offs may vary as per allocation and stream.

Before applying online for Odisha Laptop DBT scheme.
- Visit dhe.odisha.gov.in to check the published beneficiary/merit list.
- Only those whose names appear can apply.
- Ensure your Aadhaar is active, your mobile number is linked to Aadhaar, and your bank account is NPCI mapped (Aadhaar seeded).
Apply Online
Firstly, visit the official Scholarship portal of Odisha government at scholarship.odisha.gov.in.
Click “Schemes” in the main menu and the click on “Apply Now” button under the “Godavarish Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana (LAPTOP DBT)” section.

if you are a new user. Click on “Register Now” button.

Accept the terms and conditions and click on “Proceed” button.

Enter your Aadhaar number and click “Get OTP“, then verify the OTP and fill all other details in the student registration form.

Existing users can login directly. After successful login, again click on the apply now button under the scheme name on the schemes page of the Odisha scholarships portal.
Fill all the required details and attach all details in the Odisha Laptop DBT scheme online form and submit it.
